Cagayan's own basketball team!

The next season of the Philippine Basketball Association - Development League, which is perhaps the biggest amateur basketball league in the country, will already kick - off on March 13, 2012. Though some may be unfamiliar with this tournament, having been created only a few years ago, this is something that Cagayanos should look forward to as the Province of Cagayan will field its own representative in the tournament, named Cagayan Rising Suns. The team will battle it out with nine other teams, namely: Erase Placenta, Junior Powerade Tigers, RnW Pacific Pipes Steelmasters, NLEX Roadwarriors, Cebuana Lhuiller Gems, Cafe France Bakers, Boracay Rum Waves, Blackwater Sports and Big Chill Superchargers. Through this initiative by the provincial government of Cagayan, the youth may be encouraged to engage into sports and dream big of one day being part of the big leagues.

The members of the team include:

Joey Lascano, 6'2", De Ocampo College, From Batangas City
Jerick Gamueda, 5'8", Univ. of St. Louis Tuguegarao, From Tuguegarao City
