Last Tuesday and Wednesday, Tuguegarao was battered by continuous rains and strong winds brought by weather disturbance Helen. Signal No. 2 was issued for the entire Cagayan province and other adjacent provinces. Aside from the swelling of rivers and flooding of a few streets that doesn't have proper drainage systems, the weather disturbance didn't cause major damage to infrastructure. Impact of the typhoon in the agricultural sector though is a different story as it is estimated that half a billion pesos worth of agricultural produce was damaged after continuous and heavy rains.
