BATIL PATUNG/ PANCIT TUGUEGARAO

After being featured in popular television shows, Pancit Tuguegarao also known as Pancit Batil Patung is fastly gaining popularity as one of the best tasting pancit in the country. Perhaps the most sought after dish in the city, Pancit Batil Patung features a sunny - side - up egg on top of it, carabao beef, chicharon, liver, flat and thick noodles and a cup of Kaldo or soup. Some restaurants also include Karahay and vegetables. You can't be called a native of Tuguegarao if you haven't tasted this sumptuous meal.

CHICHARABAO

This is not your ordinary chicharon because this one is made of carabao skin and beef instead of the usual pork. Manufactured by award - winning Ligthhouse Cooperative, this chicharon brand comes in different flavors like garlic, hot and spicy and salt and vinegar. Chicharabao is also Tuguegarao's official entry in the National One Town One Product program.

CHICHARICA

If you want to have a taste of Chicharon but doesn't want to take in meat, you should try this out. Chicharica is another unusual brand of chicharon from Lighthouse Cooperative that is made up of Rice and Cassava. It actually is the healthier version of Chicharabao.

CARABAO MILK CANDY

This sweet delicacy originated from the town of Alcala in Cagayan. Currently though, other towns in the province including Tuguegarao already have their own versions of this candy. This thin, rectangular candy will definitely satisfy your craving with its sweet taste and aroma. Costing at around P40, this could be bought in all major groceries and supermarkets in the city. By the way, the most popular brand of Alcala Milk Candy, Teano, is already being manufatured in the city of Tuguegarao.

TUGUEGARAO LONGGANISA

It's garlic and salty taste is one factor that distinguishes it from other longganisas which are usually sweet. It's unique and delicious flavor would definitely provide you with a good breakfast. Make sure to brush your teeth very well after eating because this longganisa sure have a very strong smell.

PANCIT CABAGAN

This pancit meal is not actually that of Tuguegarao. It's actually from Cabagan in Isabela but since a good number of panciterias serve this pancit in the city, it's a good idea to include it in this list. Given the heavy population there is in Tuguegarao especially during daytime, the city actually has more pancit cabagan restaurants than its native home in Cabagan.
